Our muesli is toasted to give it a pleasing, nutty flavor.  You can keep it interesting by changing the nuts or fruits as you like.  Eat this hot or cold and feel fueled through your busy mornings.

3 cups rolled oats
1 cup sliced almonds
½ cup raw pumpkin seeds
1 cup raisins
½ cup dried cranberries
1 tsp ground cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350°.

Spread oats onto a baking sheet.  Bake 5-7 minutes or until fragrant, then stir.  Add almonds, cinnamon and pumpkin seeds to the top of the oats and bake another 5 minutes or until the nuts are fragrant.  Remove from oven and let cool.  Add raisins and cranberries and stir to combine.  Keep in air tight container.

Eat cold with a bit of sweetener and milk, or add a few tablespoons of maple syrup or honey, a little milk and microwave for 2-3 minutes for a hot breakfast.

This hearty cereal is a snap to make, and keeps for several months when stored in an air-tight container.

Select the dried fruits, seeds and nuts that you enjoy most.  Give larger items like walnuts and dried apricots a rough chop before adding.  Add fresh fruit or berries to individual servings to liven things up a little!
